Here are Inside Bainbridge recommendations for the weekend of June 27-29, 2014:

1. Fairy House Workshop with Ann Lovejoy  
When: Friday, 10-11:30 a.m.
Where: Bainbridge Library, 1270 Madison Ave. N
Why: Well-known garden talent Ann Lovejoy leads kids 6 and up in making affordable-living fairy condos on the library grounds.

2. Preview Night for Rotary Auction & Rummage Sale
When: Friday, 5-8 p.m.
Where: Woodward Middle School, 9125 Sportsman Club Road
Why: This is when you scope out the loot and begin to craft your master plan for 8:00:01 a.m. Saturday morning. You can’t buy anything so don’t even try, but bring your smart phone for strategic snaps.

3. Children’s Floral Workshop with Bloedel Reserve Florist  
When: Friday, 1-3 p.m.
Where: Bloedel Reserve, 7571 NE Dolphin Drive
Why: Cathy Tyler, the Reserve’s florist, will teach children how to prepare clippings and how to arrange flowers. Participants will create their own arrangements to bring home. Read more here.

Suitable for ages 9-14. Members: $27. Non-Members: $32.

4. Bainbridge Dance Center Annual Performance  
When: Friday and Saturday, 7-9:30 p.m., and Sunday, 2 p.m.
Where: Bainbridge Performing Arts, 200 Madison Avenue

Tickets on sale through the Bainbridge Performing Arts website, bainbridgeperformingarts.org. $17. Youth, Students, Military, Teachers and Seniors may purchase tickets at the discounted rate of $13.

5. Bainbridge Island Rotary Auction & Rummage Sale
When: Saturday, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
Where: Woodward Middle School, 9125 Sportsman Club Road
Why: Where else besides NASCAR and the Rotary Auction can you hear the National Anthem followed by the sounds of a mad race to the finish line? Don’t miss a thing—get there early. Wear your tennies for better running. Read more here.

6. Washington Native Plant Society Walk in Waterfront Park
When: Saturday, 10-11:30 a.m.
Where: From Ferry and at Waterfront Park
Why: Jeannette Franks, Coordinator of Weed Warriors, will give you a tour of the park while Weed Warriors are in the process of removing noxious weeds. A low tide around noon means a long beach hike north heading under the ferry terminal. Meet at the stage in the middle of the park at about 10 a.m. Bring water in a reusable container and lunch. Dress for the weather. Sturdy footwear is recommended.

7. BIMA Summer Exhibitions Opening Reception
When: Saturday, 2-5 p.m.
Where: Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, 550 Winslow Way East
Why: Meet the artists for the new exhibits at this opening reception: Jenny Andersen, Max Grover, Romson Regarde Bustillo, Fred Lisaius.

8. Middle School Mystery Lock-In
When: Saturday, 6-9 p.m.
Where: Bainbridge Library, 1270 Madison Ave. N
Why: The prom queen was found dead at the dance? New middle schoolers get to solve the mystery.

9. Swing and Gypsy Jazz Concert
When: Saturday, 7 p.m.
Where: Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, 550 Winslow Way East
Why: Ranger and the “Re-Arrangers” and special guest Eric Vanderbilt-Mathews cover American swing standards, traditional Gypsy melodies, and the music of Django Reinhardt.

Doors open at 6:30 pm. Food and beverages available from the BIMA Bistro.

10. Open Days Program Garden Tour
When: Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Where: Skyler Garden, 9734 Manitou Place
Why: Four private gardens on Bainbridge plus one in Kingston and one in Indianola will open to to the public for self-guided tours to benefit the Garden Conservancy. No reservations required. Read more here.

Cost: $5 per garden or $25 for a ticket booklet to all six gardens. Children 12 & under free.

11. Constructive Wallowing, with Tina Gilbertson
When: Sunday, 3-4 p.m.
Where: Eagle Harbor Books, 157 Winslow Way E.
Why: Author and psychotherapist Tina Gilbertson gives you permission and even encouragement to wallow. Get a hint from the title of her book, Constructive Wallowing: How to Beat Bad Feelings by Letting Yourself Have Them.

12. Sophia Stoyanovich in Concert
When: Sunday, 3 p.m.
Where: St. Cecilia Church, 1310 Madison Ave. N
Why: Don’t miss the chance to see this Bainbridge star. Read more here.
